Elbow’s Mercury Prize winning album “The Seldom Seen Kid” is full of dramatic elements and storytelling, even by Elbow standards.

The centrepiece for me is “The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver”, and it’s even more grand when performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

The only problem is that it’s so grand it actually stops the album, like a dramatic moment in any story. Sure it’s followed by the fun number “The Fix” with Richard Hawley, but it’s best experienced on its own, with a few minutes afterward to catch your breath.

But that might just be me.
